24 players qualified for the Invitational via either winning a KGB event, receiving the innovator award for a KGB event, or replacing a qualified player.
Split into four 6-man groups, a round-robin group stage preceded a bo1 top8 with a bo3 finals, all on BGA. The top8 were allowed to make a deck swap after the group stage.
